Kathy Higgins

Dr Kathy Mansfield Higgins B.Ed. Dip.Adult Ed. M.Ed. PhD. Kathy is Max’s mother. She is not a musician but has spent a lifetime surrounded by the musical men in her family, and as a teacher herself has always been a supporter of Max’s career as a teacher and mentor of young people. Her attention these days is focussed on teaching creative writing and working with the Max Weedon Music charity to support and encourage young music makers. He is always in awe of Max’s ambitious and infectious approaches and learned so much from him about improving the careers and lives of young people. Clive has taught music in secondary school, further and higher education and also trains new teachers in the profession. Currently, Clive is Head of School for Music in BIMM Institute Bristol, a music university, guiding and managing curriculum and delivery for music makers making their way into the industry.

Rapha

Rapha Weedon

Rapha Weedon Bsc is Max's brother. Musically, he began his career at 7 on a violin, otherwise known as The Torture Device. Making friends with various lonely pianos, he also tinkered around playing the Moonlit Sonata and Winifred Atwells 5 finger boogie. At 17, Max promoted Rapha from 'backing singer' (aka shouting very loudly into a Mic) to the drummer of SHC, Max's first band. After attending university studying Maths and Computing, he was again promoted by Max to keyboard in his band The Just. In 2014 Rapha achieved grade 8 in piano and grade 6 in theory later that year. Having always strummed a guitar his latest passion is now a 5 string Fender Precision bass. You'll generally find Rapha either practicing this less abusive instrument, playing live in his covers band Delta, in the recording studio putting down some phat lines or walking the beautiful Cavajack Ella.
